Information Sharing
Local and central service delivery is changing rapidly with integrated, person-centric, whole-system models becoming the preferred approach. Information and data sharing is critical to optimising value from these new models but are you confident that current IT systems can provide the right information for your transforming business needs?
Information Sharing means different things to different people. We suggest that an inclusive Information Sharing Strategy will incorporate at least the following elements:
- Exchange – between agencies
- Integration – between services
- Knowledge – within and across service teams
- Aggregation – whole system monitoring, planning and management
Translating national initiatives into local implementation plans requires a combination of skills covering People, Process, Technology and Information.
Waiting for national systems will impact on the quality of your service delivery.
"In the public services we have to use technology to join up and share services rather than duplicate them." Rt Hon Tony Blair MP– Ex-Prime Minister (Transformation Government- Enabled by Technology)
